USA America State Quarter. Very Rare And Collectable

USA America state quarter 2000 D
2000 ANACS Massachusetts Quarter Mint Error Rare Type Coin
See closely the abnormal offset in the G of God would indicated that the die has actually split.

Since I would find it hard for the G to look that way with just a normal die break..

USA America State Quarter , Massachusetts 2000 D very rare and collectable.

A 2000 ANACS Massachusetts Quarter Mint Error Rare Type Coin.

Errors are becoming very rare as the mint has put in systems in 2002 to virtually stop all majors errors from getting out of the mint.

Die deterioration/wear is not considered to be an error at all unless it involves terminal failure of the die.

Die chips, cracks, and deterioration doubling are an acceptable part of the minting process and are not screened out by the Mint.

Most of the coins minted by a die pair during their life will be of the late die state variety and will show some degree of these issues.

Once the die deteriorates to the point of involving majors breaks such as a cud,

that is when you have an error as that is considered to be a terminal state close to die failure.

A die will be taken out of service if a cud or major break is noticed

because the next step would be a shattered die(a valuable and rare error)

I think the die must be pretty close to complete failure,

Maybe it’s a few dozen strikes away from flying apart.

Given the rate at which coins are struck, it might last a few more seconds.

By the time a mint worker picks up one of the coins from the bin and looks at it, it’s already gone.

I am still new and consider myself pretty naked with knowledge.

There is so much involved and some many different things to know.

USA AMERICA STATE QUARTER DIE FLOW LINES.
When learning about error coins I started coin hunting.

and literally believing every other coin I looked at had an error on it.

Well I assumed this is the case for a lot of people.

I just wanted to share this with you .

This coin is in a Very Late Die State because of all of the mushiness.

And what we call die flow lines.

Die flow lines are these little lines that go outwards to the edge of the die when the die starts to age.

As the die starts to age, the die starts to slowly break down over time.

Also known as Die Attrition.

This die was at the end of its life when this coin was struck as you can tell by the outward stretching of the letters.

As a result, failures start to happen, such as Die Breaks, Die Cracks, Broken Die Posts, Die Clashes, and Die Chips.

This is all normal wear and tear on the die and doesn’t carry any value over face value.

This post is really helpful, leaves no room for confusion.

See closely the abnormal offset in the G of God would indicated that the die has actually split.

Since I would find it hard for the G to look that way with just a normal die break..

All the coins i offer in my shop are very rare.
